Boat share v. boat hire

Although boating in France, particularly on the French canals and inland waterways, is an enormously pleasurable way of taking a holiday in France, canal boat hire in France can be very expensive. That is why we have created a number of boat-share – or co-ownership or shared ownership – syndicates for lovers of the French canals which enable them to cruise such waterways wonders as the Canal du Midi, the Nivernais canal and the other numerous picturesque canals of Burgundy all of which are ideal for holidays afloat.

Our boat-share (co-ownership) syndicates in France enable members to cruise the French rivers and canals for a fraction of the normal cost of boat hire in France or enable them to take canal holidays in France using the syndicate boat as a base.

French canal holidays in general and boat hire or boat-share on the French canals and other attractive waterways are gaining in popularity all the time, but connoisseurs of boating in France, whether by boat hire or boat-share, are becoming increasingly selective.

They are also coming more and more to appreciate that shared ownership of a boat through a boat-share or other form of syndicate is a much more economical way of boating on the French canals.
Shared ownership, boat-share and other co-ownership schemes in France are all intended to spread the costs of boating holidays on the French canals and other waterways among all the syndicate members so that the individual costs are reduced and boat usage remains high. Clearly, although hiring a boat on the canals and other French waterways will always remain an option, the net cost of boat hire in France as opposed to boat-share, co-ownership, shared ownership or other form of syndicate will generally be higher.

Thank you for your interest.
